Late Signs of Pregnancy

The body shows subtle signs of pregnancy shortly after conception. These early signs -- such as sore breasts, increased basal body temperature, fatigue and implantation bleeding -- are often associated with other conditions and my not be noticeable in some women. The later signs of pregnancy are typically more pronounced. If you experience any of the late symptoms of pregnancy, a pregnancy test can confirm your suspicions.

Often called "morning sickness," nausea and vomiting occurs in about 75 percent of pregnant women, according to the Baby Center website. This pregnancy symptom is not only limited to the morning hours, as the name suggests: a pregnant woman can experience the nausea any time of the day or night. The nausea and vomiting typically last a few months in the beginning of the pregnancy, although some women experience this symptom into their second trimesters. You may experience nausea alone or with vomiting. The nausea and vomiting usually doesn't start until around one month after conception.

Food aversions sometimes affect a pregnant woman during her pregnancy. If you notice foods that you once loved are no longer appealing or make you feel sick, it could be a sign of pregnancy. Smells also affect some women differently during pregnancy, and you may find that your favorite perfume, morning coffee aroma or other common scents during your day make you feel sick.

Fetal Movement

Fetal movement does not occur until well into the pregnancy, typically between 16 and 22 weeks after conception, according to Baby Zone. The baby begins moving much earlier, but the movements aren't felt right away by the mom-to-be. A woman who has been pregnant before may notice fetal movements sooner than a first-time mom. The movements generally feel like fluttering or gentle movements in the abdominal area.
