How to Remove Color From Your Hair While Pregnant

You may be tired of your hair color or suffered a hair color disaster, after either visiting a professional hair colorist or coloring your hair yourself, and you now wish to remove the unwanted color from your hair. According to The American Pregnancy Association, if you're pregnant, it's best to wait until the second trimester to apply bleach to your hair since it's easily absorbed into your bloodstream. Bleach is a strong chemical that can also weaken your hair shaft and damage your skin, no matter when you apply it. Try natural and safe methods to remove the color from your hair that don't contain bleaching agents.

Saturate your hair with the hottest water you can stand, either in the shower or in a sink. Make sure the water isn't too hot to avoid burning your scalp. The hot water will help fade your unwanted hair color.

Warm 1/2 cup of olive oil in the microwave for 10 seconds or in a pot on the stove. The olive oil should be warm, not boiling. Massage the warm olive oil thoroughly into your damp hair, wrap a towel around your head and allow the olive oil to penetrate your hair for 30 minutes. The olive oil will aid in stripping your hair color.

Wash the olive oil out of your hair with either a volumizing or anti-dandruff shampoo. Both types of shampoo open up the cuticle of the hair, which assists in color removal. After rinsing out the shampoo, massage a leave-in conditioner into your hair.

Soak your hair in tomato juice once each week until you have eliminated any green tones from your hair. The red in tomatoes will help to neutralize the green color.

Don't use any of these remedies on your eyebrows or eyelashes since they could harm your eyes.
