Teething babies can suffer from pain, fever, diarrhea, restlessness, diaper rash and other symptoms that can make baby and her parents stressed and unhappy. Pediatric specialists at the University of Michigan include homeopathic chamomile in their suggested menu of items to soothe and relax your teething baby. Commercial chamomile tablets crushed to powder or commercial chamomile tea bags can be prepared and administered in ways that are safe and effective for your baby.

Crush one chamomile tablet into powder with the back of a spoon. Mix the powder into 1 tbsp. water and administer it to your baby. Doctors at the University of Michigan believe this remedy may also help teething babies suffering from diarrhea.

Add one chamomile tea bag to 1 cup of boiling water, and steep the tea for three minutes. Allow the tea to cool completely before offering it to your baby.

Dip a corner of a clean wash cloth in chamomile tea. Place the wet cloth in the freezer. Offer the frozen cloth-end to the baby to chew. University of Michigan pediatrics professionals suggest this may help calm your baby by relieving inflamed gums.

Mix a dropper of chamomile liquid into a dish of your teething baby's applesauce. Certified medical herbalist Aviva Romm suggests that chamomile's anti-inflammatory and calming properties may help alleviate baby's teething pain.
